“A Polaroid reveals life at the current moment. I’m capturing you in this square.” -Ray Gurz
Since summer is fast approaching, I was trying to get ready already as much as possible. Yup, I am that excited! Summer is my favorite season, remember? (If you’re a regular reader, you already know).
Cameras are always at the top of everyone’s pack list when traveling. Of course we want to take photos of every waking moment of our journey, capture every scene and every place. I really have no plan on getting myself an instant camera but I’ve realized that there are so many reasons to get one. I was torn between getting the wide or the mini, but since I’m learning the art of traveling easily, I chose the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 instead so it won’t be hard for me to carry it while traveling. Here are some of the reasons:
INSTANT IS ALWAYS THE BEST!
Isn’t it exciting to see and touch the finished product immediately just after you took it? The feeling is so satisfying.
IT’S INTERESTING AND EXCITING
The feeling of watching the photo develop is really exciting! The thrill of waiting for your photo to slowly show up will give you an unexplainable chills.
NOSTALGIA
Gone are the days of flipping through old photo albums. These days, we often document our travel photos through Facebook, Instagram and etc., using hashtags and the such. It’s so nice to take a break from the social media life and welcome the good old-fashioned print photos back.
IT IS NATURAL
Non processed photos are my favorites. Candid photos look amazing. I admit I always use filters to enhance my photos but natural photos always look best.
GREAT TOOL TO PRESERVE YOUR MEMORIES
I am always a fan of putting all your memories through photo albums. I believe that instant film cameras are a wonderful way to collect your memories and save them for the rest of your life.
I brought my Fuji Instax Mini to Europe with me. The satisfaction of having the photos right there in your hands was great but be careful which one you get! My camera doesn’t have an option for no flash so a lot of photos were washed out. My friend, however, had the next model up and his pics were flawless!
Just something to think about :)
You really have to use each film wisely or else it’ll just be a waste. You got the instax mini 8 too? Or you have the other model?
