“But you keep the promise anyway. That’s what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway. Don’t you believe in true love?”
It’s ironic that I highlighted that quote but I really don’t believe in promises. Weird, huh?
“That’s the thing about pain. It demands to be felt.”
“Maybe okay will be our always.”
“…but everybody should have true love, and it should last at least as long as your life does.”
“The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.”
“I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
“Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.”
“Without pain, we couldn’t know joy.”
“But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.”
“Okay?”, “Okay.”
I’ve read the book a week ago and I can’t believe I finished the whole thing in one day. First time, indeed. I haven’t been TOO attached to a book for so long — since SDTG days — but the moment I started reading the epigraph of TFIOS, that moment I knew that I could not put my iPad down. And yeah, I did not. John Green made me cry really really really hard. Every word worth my tears so I have no regrets reading Augustus & Hazel’s story. I’ve also watched the movie 3 days after and even though I knew how would the story go and how did the story ended, I still cried. Hard. Very hard. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, I suggest that you should read the book first so you know every detail of the story. Omg. I thought I’m not gonna cry, really. But I think I cried harder when I saw the movie. Haha. Redundant, eh? Can’t g.e.t.o.v.e.r! It’s heartbreaking to see Hazel grieving for Augustus and it hurts to see Augustus in pain — rather than just creating your own scenarios in your mind. But I still liked their epic love story. I know we have our own favorite quotes (but I guess most of them are just the same) and those quotes you’ve read above were my top 10! What’s yours? Feel free to share them below!
And btw, I chose a girly style today just because I feel girly, no side story :p My top, skirt and sunglasses were from the bazaar (I told you, I love bazaars), my boho bag was from H&M and my gold sandals were from Segue. Have a good day. It’s officially summer!!!! Enjoy! Toodles.
Lovely look!
